The plumbing decides more of a bathroom renovation than anything else in it — where the toilet can sit, whether the vanity can move, what the floor will take. We set it out, rough it in, pass the inspection and come back for the fixtures, at a fixed price agreed before demolition starts.

Tile and vanities are what a renovation is judged on. What it actually depends on is behind the wall, and that part has to be right before anything pretty goes over it.
Drains, vents and supply run and secured before anything closes up, pressure-tested, and signed off at inspection. This is the stage nobody sees and the one that decides whether the finished bathroom gives trouble in five years.
Moving a toilet is a drain question, not a design question: it depends on the stack, the fall you can get and whether you are on a slab or over joists. We tell you what the house allows before the tiles are ordered, not after the floor is open.
In a pre-1960 Toronto house the wall usually contains cast iron and galvanized pipe that has been quietly failing for decades. We look before quoting where we can, and where we genuinely cannot know until the wall is open, we say so and price that part hourly instead of padding the fixed quote.
Tub or shower base, valves, toilet, vanity, taps and the connections behind them. Supply the fixtures yourself or have us do it — either way you are told beforehand what is included, so nothing turns up as an extra on the last day.

Larger jobs — renovations, installs, backwater valves, sump pumps — are quoted as a fixed price upfront after a quick assessment, not billed hourly. Request a free estimate. Inspections are different: camera work, leak detection and pre-purchase reports are billed at the rates above, because what you get is the findings and the footage, not a quote. If you go ahead with the repair, the inspection fee comes off your invoice.

About Us
Ankor Ltd. has been working across Toronto since 2013. The company started when our founder left the firm he worked for and the residential buildings he had been maintaining asked him to keep looking after them — which is why a family-sized crew ended up servicing apartment buildings alongside houses. In Toronto that mix is exactly right: the same week can take us from a century home on the Danforth to a mechanical room downtown.
It is still a family business. Calls are answered by our office rather than a call centre, the plumber who quotes the job is the one who does it, and the price is agreed before anything is opened up. Every plumber is licensed and insured, we carry WSIB coverage, and we take out the permits and meet the inspectors on the work that needs them.
City of Toronto Rebate
The City of Toronto's Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy Program reimburses homeowners for eligible flood-prevention work — including the exact backwater valve and sump pump installations we do every week. We handle the licensed installation, take out the building permit and meet the inspector ourselves — the permit is a condition of the subsidy, and it is the part most homeowners get stuck on. The rest of the paperwork is straightforward and we're happy to walk you through it.

We do the plumbing: rough-in, drain and supply relocation, valves, fixtures and final connections. Tile, drywall and paint are other trades — we work alongside them and around their schedule. If you are running the renovation yourself, tell us who else is on it and we fit our two visits around theirs.
Usually, but it depends on the drain rather than the floor plan. It comes down to where the stack is, how much fall we can get to it, and whether the bathroom sits over joists or on a slab. On a slab it means breaking concrete, which is doable but changes the price. We can tell you on a walkthrough, before you commit to a layout.
