Every number on this page is the number we charge. The service call is $160 plus tax and covers travel and the first hour of labour; after that it is $110 an hour per technician. Bigger jobs are quoted as a fixed price before anyone touches a wrench, and the assessment that produces that quote is free.

Search for what a plumber costs in Toronto and you get ranges so wide they are useless — “$150 to $800” — or a form asking for your phone number. There is a reason for that, and it is worth understanding before you call anyone.
A $49 or $89 trip charge is an advertising number, not a price. It buys a van in your driveway and a technician whose job is to sell you the repair once he is standing in your basement. The quote arrives after you have already given up your afternoon, which is exactly when people stop shopping around.
Travel across the GTA, the van stocked so a common repair does not need a parts run, and the first hour on site. Most straightforward calls — a seized shut-off, a running toilet, a leaking trap, a single blocked fixture — are finished inside that hour. The bill is $160 plus tax and there is no second line item.
Access is the honest variable. A main line with a proper cleanout is $560; the same line reached through a pulled toilet or a roof vent is more work and is quoted separately. Old cast iron, a sagged section, a line under a finished floor — those change the job, and we say so on site before starting, not on the invoice afterwards.
Repairs are hourly because nobody can honestly price an unknown before opening it. Installations and renovations are the opposite: a water heater swap, a backwater valve, a bathroom rough-in all get one fixed number agreed in writing beforehand. If a job could reasonably be billed either way, we tell you which one we are using and why.

Inspections are the exception to fixed pricing — camera work, leak detection and pre-purchase reports are billed at the hourly rates above, because what you are buying is the findings and the footage rather than a quote. If you go ahead with the repair, that inspection fee comes off your invoice.

About Us
Ankor Ltd. has been working across Toronto since 2013. The company started when our founder left the firm he worked for and the residential buildings he had been maintaining asked him to keep looking after them — which is why a family-sized crew ended up servicing apartment buildings alongside houses. In Toronto that mix is exactly right: the same week can take us from a century home on the Danforth to a mechanical room downtown.
It is still a family business. Calls are answered by our office rather than a call centre, the plumber who quotes the job is the one who does it, and the price is agreed before anything is opened up. Every plumber is licensed and insured, we carry WSIB coverage, and we take out the permits and meet the inspectors on the work that needs them.
City of Toronto Rebate
The City of Toronto's Basement Flooding Protection Subsidy Program reimburses homeowners for eligible flood-prevention work — including the exact backwater valve and sump pump installations we do every week. We handle the licensed installation, take out the building permit and meet the inspector ourselves — the permit is a condition of the subsidy, and it is the part most homeowners get stuck on. The rest of the paperwork is straightforward and we're happy to walk you through it.
